This download is a collection of tracks by J.J. Cale. He was born John W. Cale on December 5, 1938, in Oklahoma City, USA and is an American songwriter and musician. He remains best known for writing two songs that Eric "Slowhand" Clapton made famous: "After Midnight" and "Cocaine". Cale has been covered by a number of different artists including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Widespread Panic and Larry Carlton.

Here is a collection of tracks from the excellent reggae band, Black Uhuru. Black Uhuru are a Jamaican reggae band probably best known for their hits "Shine Eye Gal", "Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner", "Sinsemilla", "Solidarity" and "What Is Life?". They were the first group to win a Grammy in the reggae category when it was introduced in 1985. They originally formed in 1972 as Uhuru (the Swahili word for freedom). Tracks 11 & 12 aren't perfect quality but my vinyl is a bit scratchy (nothing major though).

I was talking to the wife the other day and was claiming I didn't like musicals when she then proceeded to list off about 10 I do like (Blues Brothers, Quadrophenia, Tommy, Crossroads, Rocky Horror and more which I cant remember now) so I guess I do like some musicals. Anyway I'm starting to ramble now so basically this sound track is an absolute gem, chock full of excellent soul/blues. Christ: The Bootleg was recorded live in Nottingham in the UK on February the 5th 1984 during the band's last tour. This was originally released in 1989, with permission from the band, through Allied Recordings and then reissued in 1997 by No Idea Records.
The other part of the download is a couple of rehearsal sessions from 1981 just prior to releasing Christ The Album. I originally got the rehearsal recordings from the excellent Kill Your Pet Puppy site so go and check it out.

Here's a new drum & bass/jungle mix for your halloween pleasure though it hasn't actually got much to do with Halloween except for the Ghost Town theme ;) It's mainly new tunes but I've included a few old classics as well. The actual mix took me about 4 attempts to get it right but I'm pretty happy with the end result (some of the levels could be better but that can't be helped :). It runs for just over an hour and a quarter so it will fit on a CD and I've included some covers if you want to burn yourself a copy. Anyway, download it and enjoy :)

This download is the remastered demo's by Bad Brains recorded in 1979. Bad Brains are a hardcore punk band from the United States formed in Washington, D.C. in 1977. They are widely regarded as among the pioneers of hardcore punk but they are also an adept reggae band.
This demo is basically the band's first full length session of any kind in a recording studio. It was recorded in Don Zientara's basement which had a four track Teac 1/4" tape deck and a small drum booth to one side of the basement. The track list represents all of the band's songs, their first month's output, starting with the first song the band ever wrote, "Don't Need It." As is true with all 4 track recordings some decisions were made "going to tape", most notable is the eerie reverb on the drums, and these choices are forever a part of the mix.

Black Flag was an American punk band started in 1976 in Hermosa Beach, California. The band was formed by Greg Ginn, the guitarist, primary songwriter & sole continuous member through multiple personnel changes in the band. They are widely considered to be one of the first hardcore punk bands.
This download is the 1982 demo featuring the short-lived five-piece lineup of Henry Rollins, Greg Ginn, Chuck Dukowski, Dez Cadena & Chuck Biscuits. The first 10 tracks are mostly stuff that would end up on My War and Slip It In, but there are two that have never officially been released. The last four tracks are from a radio show recorded just after Kira joined the band (one of the tracks is an interview).
