This compilation is dedicated to the late, great Syd Barrett. It was originally released in 2007 as a free CD with Mojo magazine with the sub-title of 15 psychedelic freak outs. There's a nice eclectic bunch of artists on the CD and it has some really good tracks on it so I've posted it up here for your enjoyment.

Time for a bit of classic space rock & this compilation features 20 tracks from a number of different artists. It has all the main protagonists of the genre, including Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, Gong & Steve Hillage to name a few. I have already posted details for some of the bands here so if you want to you can download more of their music. Anyway I suggest you now sit back & relax in your favourite armchair with a smoke of your choice, stick your headphones on & enjoy this trip into the outer reaches of a psychedelic galaxy.

Well seeing as it's my birthday today and I've reached the wise old age of erm... 42 I think ;) I thought I'd post up a collection of some of my favourite songs of all time. There's going to be many different genre's but that's just a reflection of my taste in music. If you click on the band link it will open all the posts for that band so you can hear more of them.
Here's that second sampler CD I got at the gig last week. This is from a band called Obsessive Compulsive and is two tracks from their current album, Dreams Of Death And The Death Of Dreams. To be honest I'm not a huge fan of this as I like something a bit heavier but in the interests of fairness I've posted it up anyway.
Here's the tracklisting (320kbps)... 01) $$ 02) Man vs Machine
I picked up a couple of free CD's at a gig the other night and thought I'd post them up here. I went to see The Plight supported by Turbowolf (Who were really, really good), The Dead Formats and Feed The Rhino (Another good band, pretty typical current UK hardcore). Download a track by Turbowolf. Ancient Snakes by Turbowolf
This CD is from a band called End To Empires and has three tracks of excellent thrash punk/metal. They're not breaking any new musical boundaries with their style or sound but if you like your music fast and thrashy then you should give this lot a listen.
Here's something a little different for you. Derek and Clive is a double act of comedic characters created by Dudley Moore (Derek) and Peter Cook (Clive) in the 1970s. The characters are supposedly two lavatory attendants and are appallingly foul-mouthed extensions of their earlier characters Pete and Dud. Pretty much every 'sketch' is highly offensive and usually consist of the drunken pair swearing at each other. If words like fuck and shit offend you then you're not going to like this but I find it incredibly funny :) This download is actually their second album called Come Again which was recorded in 1977, the first one is Derek and Clive Live from 1976 and the third (& last) album is Ad Nauseam which was recorded in 1978. There was also a film documentary recorded in 1979 called Derek and Clive Get The Horn.
Here's the tracklisting (160kbps)... 01) You Stupid Cunt 02) Coughin' Contest 03) Cancer 04) Non-Stop Dancer / My Mum Song 05) Joan Crawford 06) Norman The Carpet 07) How's Your Mother 08) Back Of The Cab 09) Alfie Noakes 10) Nurse 11) In The Cubicles 12) Ross McPharter 13) Hello Colin 14) Having A Wank 15) I Saw This Bloke 16) Parking Offence 17) Members Only 18) Valerie's Hymen 19) Mother 20) Young Dudley Moore Performs "Jump"
Here's a copy of the flexi disc that came free with the 1987 album Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death. It has an alternative version of Buzzbomb with Jello singing in a weird 'grandma' voice. The other side is called Night Of The Living Rednecks and was recorded live with Jello telling a story whilst the guitarist sorts out some problem. The files are in FLAC format.
