They have close connections with the band Gong and in 1977/1978 worked with Gong's Daevid Allen and Gilli Smyth under the name Planet Gong. The lineup changes at the end of the 70s caused a slight shift in the bands approach to their songs, moving from their more improvisational style to a more structured approach. This show was a farewell performance by the band recorded at Dingwalls in Camden on the 31st January 1986.
Even if this was a farewell show they're still going strong today and you can give them a listen at their myspace page.

I love Hawkwind. No pissing about with changing musical directions or trying to make a more money-friendly sound, just straight up cosmic space rock. There is so much good stuff to choose from I didn't know where to start so instead of me doing a compilation I'll post up this live recording. It is a BBC Live In Concert recording of a show from 28 September 1972 in the Paris Theatre, London. I'll be posting up another live show from Hawkwind in the next couple of days so don't forget to check back.

This download is a live show by Leftfield that was recorded at The Homelands Festival on the 27th May 2000. The copy was taken from a radio broadcast so the quality is excellent for a live show. Leftfield are a British duo of electronica artists and record producers, namely Paul Daley (formerly of The Rivals, A Man Called Adam and the Brand New Heavies) and Neil Barnes, who formed in 1990 in London, England.
