Well I reckon it's time for some more music all the way from the Planet Gong. This show was recorded at Sheffield City Hall in 1974. I think it was actually on the 26th of April on the Angel's Egg tour but I don't know for definite.
Anyway this is an excellent live show and has what I consider to be the classic Gong lineup, as follows:
- Guitar, Vocals / Daevid Allen (aka Dingo Virgin)
- Guitar / Steve Hillage (aka Hillside or The Submarine Captain Hillfish)
- Bass / Mike Howlett (aka Mr T. Being)
- Drums, Percussion / Pierre Moerlen (aka Pierre de Strasbourg)
- Saxophones, Flute / Didier Malherbe (aka Bloomdido Bad de Grass)
- Synthesizers / Tim Blake (aka H.T. Monnweed)
- Space Whisper / Gilli Smyth (aka Cakti Yoni)
Gong are a french/english space rock band started by Daevid Allen, an Australian musician, poet & performer. They were formed in 1967 & have been together in some lineup or other right upto today.

This is a copy of a tape by a band called Paperhouse which was released in 1991. I saw them live years ago and thought they were excellent so I bought a copy of their tape. Coming from somewhere in Surrey they play a psychedelic mix of dub-tinged space rock, very much in the same vein as early Ozric Tentacles and bands like that. The sound quality isn't perfect but considering it's taken from a 20 year old tape then it's not bad at all. The lineup of the band is Jake (Guitar), Andy (Bass), Phil (Drums) & Brian (Keyboards).
This is a collection of tracks from a band called Weedeater. They're pretty much a mix of stoner rock and sludge/doom metal but they have a definite bit of crust punk as well. Not the most upbeat of bands but if you like this kind of thing then they're definitely worth hearing (especially the track Alone... I love that song :). Weedeater formed in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1997 and have released three full length albums.
In April 2007, the band signed on to the Southern Lord record label.

The Beastie Boys weren't always a hip hop/rap group. When they first formed in 1979 they were a hardcore punk band and this recording was from a gig at CBGB's on the 20th November 1982. They earned support slots for bands like Bad Brains, the Dead Kennedys and the Misfits at venues such as CBGB's and Max's Kansas City, playing at the latter on its closing night. In 1982 the Beastie Boys recorded the 7" EP Pollywog Stew at 171A studios, an early recorded example of New York hardcore.
