Paperhouse (ORIG POST)

This is a copy of a tape by a band called Paperhouse which was released in 1991. I saw them live years ago and thought they were excellent so I bought a copy of their tape. Coming from somewhere in Surrey they play a psychedelic mix of dub-tinged space rock, very much in the same vein as early Ozric Tentacles and bands like that. The sound quality isn't perfect but considering it's taken from a 20 year old tape then it's not bad at all. The lineup of the band is Jake (Guitar), Andy (Bass), Phil (Drums) & Brian (Keyboards).

Here's the tracklisting (320kbps)...
01) Floating E Riff Song
02) Purple House
03) Dreamscape
04) Helix (DNA MIX)
05) Dispersive Circles
06) Whirling Blue Smoke
07) Wobbly Dubby Thingy
08) All Chemical
09) Astro (MIX)
10) Interface

You can also get their 1992 'Spongy Comestibles' album by paying a visit to The Woodmans Axe blog

  1. Cheers for this, I have their "Spongy Comestibles" CD to download from my blog:

Great blog, by the way. :-)

  2. Nice one. I've never heard the album so I'll definitely get that from you.

    Thanks :)

  3. Hi Ernest. Please can you upload Paperhouse Tape A to as I would really like to hear it. I already have a copy of "Spongy Comestibles" on the excellent Mystic Stones label. Jake Stephenson and Brian Trower later recorded as Optic Eye, on the Mystic Stones and Jumpin' & Pumpin' labels. They then recorded as Optica on Jake's Kinetix label.

  4. Shit, sorry for the delay in responding. I'll get on it now and let you know. Cheers.

  5. The download should be ready now :) Let me know if you get any problems.

I didn't know they released anything on Jumpin' & Pumpin', I've got a few old 'tunes' on that label. I think I might have heard some of their other stuff 'cos my brother has a lot of the Kinetix stuff (from working at Freak Emporium with Jon). Dunno for definite though ;)

What's the other stuff like? Got a copy ;)
