This is a copy of a tape by a band called Paperhouse which was released in 1991. I saw them live years ago and thought they were excellent so I bought a copy of their tape. Coming from somewhere in Surrey they play a psychedelic mix of dub-tinged space rock, very much in the same vein as early Ozric Tentacles and bands like that. The sound quality isn't perfect but considering it's taken from a 20 year old tape then it's not bad at all. The lineup of the band is Jake (Guitar), Andy (Bass), Phil (Drums) & Brian (Keyboards).
Hi Ernest. Please can you upload Paperhouse Tape A to www.netkups.com as I would really like to hear it. I already have a copy of "Spongy Comestibles" on the excellent Mystic Stones label. Jake Stephenson and Brian Trower later recorded as Optic Eye, on the Mystic Stones and Jumpin' & Pumpin' labels. They then recorded as Optica on Jake's Kinetix label.
The download should be ready now :) Let me know if you get any problems.
I didn't know they released anything on Jumpin' & Pumpin', I've got a few old 'tunes' on that label. I think I might have heard some of their other stuff 'cos my brother has a lot of the Kinetix stuff (from working at Freak Emporium with Jon). Dunno for definite though ;)
Cheers for this, I have their "Spongy Comestibles" CD to download from my blog:
